Artistic Projects:

I am very passionate about social change, and I have gotten to do that through both acting and directing. After a performance someone said to me “Thank you for telling that story”, and that really stuck with me. Through my art I want to continue telling stories of those who are often unheard, create a safe place to start conversations and challenge ideas of how stories should be written and who they are written for.

THEATRE FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

Embracing Eve

An all women cabaret type concert displaying the history of women throughout musical theatre. The show began with Golden Age and ended with contemporary musical theatre. Throughout the show you saw the shift in women's roles in theatre and how they gained power.

- Scenes about sexual assault awareness written and performed by students as a part of freshman orientation. They explored different topics like, the effects of sexual assault, how race/gender/sexuality create stereotypes and in relationship assault.

My First Time

The first play I got to independently direct, and it was performed in our Black Box Theatre. It originally began as a website created by Peter that was later developed into a play using those real stories. Like real life, the stories range from hilarious to heartbreaking. A first time, or lack of, is something we all have in common, so why not share these stories? My First Time has an open, honest conversation about sex and what it means to different people.

4.48 Psychosis - Sarah Kane

The play was written while Sarah Kane was in and out of mental institutions. It takes a deeply personal and raw look into what mental illness looks like and the struggle to accept help. This play created a safe space to talk about mental illness and all the taboo topics that come along with that.
